The Tolcide® PS range of biocide have been designed for the treatment of microbiological fouling. Tolcide® PS - Biocide was specifically created for controlling sulphate reducing bacteria in production fluids.When the biocidal properties of Tolcide® PS were first discovered in the early 1980's the product found immediate use in industrial water treatment applications for use as a biocide in cooling water systems.In 2002, Rhodia formally notified the European Chemicals Bureau of the intention to support the Tolcide® PS active ingredient together with other active biocide within the Rhodia portfolio through the European 'Biocidal Products Directive'.
